Relaxation exercises for the end of Pilates class

Relaxation exercises are the first conditions for our body to be receptive to work. A good metaphor is to turn the body into a blank sheet where we can design new motor programs.

Relaxation exercise techniques are a method of psychological intervention that aims to achieve a state of physical and mental relaxation, regardless of the relaxation technique being practiced.

Each Pilates Method exercise has a specific starting posture and the practitioner must learn to keep it completely effortless in order to begin the movement without unnecessary tension.

This attitude is both physical and mental: the body is relaxed and the mind is silent as it prepares to fully experience the next steps in the movement.

The highlight of the relaxing action is the endorphin, a substance that helps relieve stress.

Proprioception through Relaxation

Relaxation Exercises

Relaxation is often used as a means of getting back to calm for the Relaxation-Exercises-3students. But, much more than that, relaxation can be used to achieve other goals. One of them, for example, is the work of proprioception.

Through a resting position, silent environment, we can orally stimulate our student in order to make him perceive his own body.

He can perceive how his body settles in space, feel the heartbeat, breathe deeply and perceive breathing movements, consciously resting his musculature, among other perceptions.

This moment brings a greater intimacy of the individual with his own body, makes him know himself better, and releases a good feeling of well-being.

During relaxation, we can apply massage or manipulation techniques with the aim of relieving tension points and helping in the perception of axial stretching.

Massages can be done with the aid of accessories, such as rollers, tennis balls, balls, overalls, and carts.

The stimulation of intrinsic feedback during relaxation is interesting. Making the student remember the exercises of the day and making him realize the muscles worked help in fixing movements in motor memory and self-correction.

Relaxation Exercises for the Class

Good relaxation is a moment of meeting yourself, done through the focus on breathing, body, and mental state.

As we become more aware of everything, we increase our ability to use our intuition and make the right decisions. Intuiting is nothing more than seeing better the things that happen out there, looking inside.

The moment of relaxation generates a good stimulation with sensations through memory that brings the student well-being that lived in the pleasant moments he remembers.

In this way, there is a greater release of serotonin and endorphins, hormones that give a feeling of pleasure. Make relaxation a special moment in your class.
